Finland’s booming nail salon industry is facing allegations of exploitation, with insiders claiming that many Vietnamese-owned salons are involved in illegal practices including selling jobs for tens of thousands of euros.
Bao, a Vietnamese man with years of experience in the trade, told Finnish broadcaster Yle that nail salons have increasingly become a front for other business activities. “I want to speak out because this is unfair to everyone trying to work legally,” he said.
