A group of young men wearing ski masks is suspected of robbing a minor at gunpoint in Espoo in the early hours of 30 June.
The alleged incident occurred near Nanan Grill in the Kivenlahti district. Police say the suspects also sprayed the victim’s face with an unknown gas before taking personal items from him.
According to the Western Uusimaa Police Department, around ten young men dressed in dark clothing were involved. The group reportedly included both minors and adults.
Police believe that the crime was recorded and shared on social media. Investigators have already received clips of the footage and are appealing for additional material from the public.
“There were many young people present, so it is likely several witnessed the incident,” the department said in a statement.
The youth crime investigation unit is collecting tips and visual evidence. Photos and videos can be sent via email to This email address is being protected from spambots. The offence is being investigated as an aggravated robbery. Police have not confirmed whether any suspects have been identified or apprehended.
