A new analysis commissioned by Sitra and conducted by Matti Pohjola, Professor Emeritus of Economics at Aalto University, finds that Finland’s economic stagnation is primarily due to declining productivity in the private sector. The study concludes that the root cause is not the public sector, weak cost competitiveness, a lack of investment, or sluggish export demand.
