The number of threats and violent incidents in Helsinki’s city services has been increasing in recent years. The city emphasises that employee safety is a priority and is working to prevent and address these situations.
Surveys conducted among city employees, such as the Kunta10 study and Helsinki’s own Fiilari survey, as well as reports submitted to the city’s occupational safety system, indicate a rising trend in workplace threats and violence.
The nature of these incidents varies across different services and departments, but the overall increase is clear.
