A labour dispute between the Finnish Aviation Union (IAU) and Service Sector Employers (Palta) remains unresolved after another failed round of negotiations, the National Conciliator’s office said on Tuesday.

The breakdown in talks comes ahead of a strike by airport ground workers scheduled for Wednesday. Finnair has cancelled around 100 flights in response.

The strike will affect key ground operations at Helsinki Airport, including baggage handling.

The union has issued seven strike warnings for July. In addition to Wednesday, industrial action is also planned for 4, 7, 16, 18, 21, and 23 July.

Similar actions earlier this year forced the cancellation of hundreds of flights and disrupted travel for tens of thousands of passengers.

The National Conciliator’s office confirmed on social media that talks will resume on Thursday.
